Unable to load backend after install on localhost setup

hi, i have a similar problem as described in this post. Error: Connection Refused when loading Magento backend
however, i have just installed magento localhost/magento works wheras admin panel wont load. my database is configured through mariadb. need urgent help

We don’t typically support localhost installations on the forum as they’re very troublesome.

There are many benefits to working with an online server when developing your Magento stores. However, there are also some for working locally. A common way to do this is by using Windows Applications like WAMP or AMPPS. These install software such Apache, PHP and MySQL to help run Web Applications.

However, these Windows Applications can make it incredibly difficult to control your working environment - Especially, when working with more complex Web Applications such as Magento.

However, I believe your issue has nothing to do with the linked post. I simply believe that you’ve not enabled Apache Rewrite in your localhost environment. Refer to your localhost software documentation.

In the future, I would recommend using How to install Ubuntu Server 18.04 on Windows 10 (VirtualBox) if you would prefer to work locally.
